Blinkers? Mirrors? License plate?...my local cops would get writer’s cramp with all the tickets. Maybe its different where you live.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.
Re: Just another AF16 Spree Swap
The last 25 years of riding a scooter I have never been stopped. I guess they don't worry to much about scooters where I live. I am going to run a stock mirror and figure out what to do about the blinkers, might just be the stock 86 rack painted black.
Re: Just another AF16 Spree Swap
Well, when they hear the brrraaAAAAAAP...its like moths to a flame in my little town. Got stopped twice last Summer and one cop was actually pretty cool about it. Asked all sorts of questions and said if he wasnt on duty he would ask to ride it! The other guy was NOT happy. Ran my info and the whole spectacle of sitting there 30 minutes with lights flashing. Checked for all safety equipment like lights, mirrors and even made me honk the horn! Searched my seat bucket, backpack and everything. Found NOTHING so he lectured me like a child (Im in my 40’s) and let me go. He tried his hardest to find something. Luckily he didnt think to enforce the 30mph “moped” speed limit....was doing about 53 in a 50 zone.

Re: Just another AF16 Spree Swap
Greetings:
Sorry you had to deal with The Spectacle, Meat. This is why I really like my stock silencer and airbox on #9. Nobody knows what it can do. (58). My little town's population has an average age of 120, and the Avalons and Buicks are easy to best from the stoplight. In-town speed limit is 45, and I try to keep it right there.

Got the frame straight tonight with some 2x4's and a bottle jack. I have some parts and need to weld some brackets to attache the cross frame support.

Making a bracket to mount the headlight, I ended up buying a motorcycle fog lamp that was 4-1/2" dia. Outside ring will be the low beam and LED's will be the high beam.

Machined up some mounts for the frame support. Once I get them fitted to the bike I am going to weld a tube between the two. One if a right hand thread and the other is left hand so you can adjust the length.
Next on the list is mounting the magnet to hook up the speedo and installing a ZX rear pulley.

Once the rubber hits the road the tuning process begins. Thats when the real fun starts. No matter how good I get mine dialed, I always think one more tweak would make it better. Carb is sorted...its the trans I just cant stop messin with..lol
Btw, beautiful build you have going. Love reading the updates.

Thank you for all the knowledge, I would have been lost tuning a 86' Honda spree if it was not for you and all the great people on this forum. Call me old school but a document build it worth way more then searching 100's of FB posts.Meatball wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 2:07 am Once the rubber hits the road the tuning process begins. Re: Just another AF16 Spree Swap
I suggest doing the first few heat cycles with the fan shrouds off to reach desired temps quicker. Replace shrouds before any actual riding. Then during break-in, use a quality conventional oil to aid in seating the rings. Once break-in done you can switch to your favorite semi or full synthetic to achieve the desired viscosity and film strength. Oil brands are subject to debate which is best. Pay a few bucks more and always get the good stuff.
Just know, the Corsa can take a literal azz whoopin and keep going. I beat the living heII out of my scoots and them Corsas just wont die. If properly dialed and temps stay in the safety zone, you’ll have thousands of miles ripping up the streets with a grin on your face that wont wipe off. Sweet build with superb attention to detail. Bravo.
