1984 Aero NB50
So my clean 1984 Aero 50 looked good when I got it... but it had issues. First It stopped running. When I inspected it: The gas tank was rusted (Thankfully not too bad), carb was clogged, It had house plumbing connecting gas tank to carb, had #2 pencil plugging vacuum line, Trunk latch was broken...I replaced the missing petcock, got the last new speedometer glass on earth, cleaned and resealed the gas tank, ran new fuel lines, cleaned the carb, sanded and painted the rims, replaced the tires, new battery, Fixed the trunk latch... put it all back together, runs like new.

Wow! Awesome job!!Welcome to the forum! You have done some fantastic work there! I hope you were able to get a new air filter for it but I did not see an air box. Is there one?

Thank you so much! I am so glad you have this Forum. It helped me get the tires to seat right on this Aero. I could not figure out why I had a bubble/ wobble when I put the new tires on. I love working on these old Hondas. It did have a air box! I cleaned the box and filter as best I could.

Great! That scooter is in good shape now! If you haven't already, I recommend you soak the air filter in some oil and squeeze out the excess (I use a sandwich bag) that will give the intake system the back-pressure it needs to draw fuel up out of the carburetor properly. It just needs to be lightly damp with oil. Hard work has gotten that back to life again! Thanks for sharing the great pics!81c70_84Aero_50 wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 12:10 pm Thank you so much!
