Re: Too many build threads- 01 Honda Elite
Sweet hope the cp works out for you. They're made for high mid to high rpms so low rpms will be a little rough I imagine. These pwk style are hard to tune the pilot. You can't kill them with the pilot until you're 2 sizes too big. While tuning I'd leave the plastics off so you can access the carb. I also recommend to modify the float bowl so you can just use the drain plug to change out jets.
I like your builds! This forum has some nice sleeper looking scoots.

thanks 1man, im gonna start playing with the carb jetting tonight maybe. it smelt very lean after the first ride. i added some oil to the 50:1 mix to try to get it closer to 32:1... i dont know how close i got it though

Re: Too many build threads- 01 Honda Elite
Please just empty your tank to save your bore. When pre mix is questionable dump it always. 5$ in gas and premix is cheaper than a new bore, crank, and bearings.
If you can post your jetting when you get it dialed in I would be in your debt. I'm going to try a cp 24 sometime in the future on a super ported bore if it works out.

I'd run it in a weed eater or a mower if it'll run it.
Good news on the cp 24 then!

we have a friend whose weed eater would spin very slow but he never fixed it because it still "got the job done" we cleaned the carb and removed the muffler and it absolutely screamed it was the funniest s***.

Re: Too many build threads- 01 Honda Elite
the elite rocks!!!! the only thing i did tuning wise was upjet to a 110 on the 24mm evo. the stock clutch sucks but with a long enough straight away or a down hill she hits the power band and makes the needle disappear. i have a polini 3 shoe and evo bell on order with G9. im getting pulled by a 171 gy6 which im not at all happy about.
whats the secrets for more top end on the dio?! i have to imagine im hitting 69-70 no gps verifcation. im thinking about swaping out the ruima variator for a ruckus one seeing as its much larger it must have some more top end to offer. ill swap a new belt on as well. what other things can i do to at least see 75?!

Re: Too many build threads- 01 Honda Elite
Gears. You need 7.58 or 7.97 at least to hit 75 and it'll be at the top of its rpm and power range. I hit 71 on a fabrizi with 7.58s and a scorp at 11,040 rpm, and it could have gone more but Temps were getting up there.
The ruck vario might help a little but once you pull the rear sheath apart it'll only go so far in the front. You need a longer belt to accommodate the larger radius, and a larger rear pulley so it will not flop around during take off or idle. More mass means more power draw from getting it put to the ground. I do a lightened flywheel and light weight drive face to offset the ruck vario usually.
24mm carbs are the way to go on the 72cc.
A bbk gy6 isn't going to go much faster than 65. 70 down hill so you're probably closer to the 60 mph mark. I use to build the gy6 150 cc junk. I still have the stupid tool you need to get the starter gear off when you go stroker.

What weights did you have in before and what do you have your clutch set at for rpm launch?hothatch85 wrote:polini clutch and polini evo bell installed. 5.6 weights installed. clear fuel bowl installed.
she really woke up with the 5.6 weights! once im not broke ill order some lighter one to see if i can get it to hold a wheelie a little better
thanks G9 for always being RAD!!!
