This post is all about a pipe and how it will change Aero's forever......
Over the course of the summer I worked with G9 at scooter swap shop, on testing his polini equipment as well as a "top secret" new exhaust the he had developed. I had great progress but got torn away back to school for the fall. Being home for the holiday i finally had enough time to snap some pictures and record some information. My setup:
Molassi BBK
Stock clutch with polini clutch spring and stiffer springs
Polini Ruckus Variator with the lighter of the two sets of rollers
Polini 19mm carburetor (and as of now Main: 102, Pilot: 40)
4 hole polini intake with carbon fiber reed block
Aero50 G9 pipe

When i first started this build i was using the stock intake, since None of G9's intake converter kits were available ( http://scooterswapshop.com/store/scoote ... rb-adapter ) I slotted out the stock intake and fitted a similar but larger adapter. It worked for a while but between the vibrations and the soft aluminum i ended up ditching it and running a sweet polini intake which required an adapter plate (linked above). This setup in tangent with the Polini carb is AWESOME!! Its the smoothest running and most fuel efficient setup i have ever come across. If you are thinking of doing a build and cheaping out for an OKO, don't do it spend the extra money you will be happy. Now with the bbk and the fuel setup the aero was running much better cruising at around 40 and was fairly quick. That's when the PIPE arrived. Putting it on there were some adjustments that had to be made so it would bolt up to the case (just drilled out the holes a tad bit bigger.). Once on i was expected and sort of dirt bike pop pop pop noice. I was pleasantly suprised when it was "throatier" almost like a proper road bike sound. This is where being a good tuner is important (which i am not). I am slow and like to take my time as to not damage anything which is (from what im told good) but not efficient when your trying to do a build with limited time. Right now i am Running around 7k RPM's on the stand. It cruises at around 6200 RPM's at 46 mph (Trail Tech Vapor). The pipe is a GAME CHANGER, between 30 and 35mph it kicks in (3500 RMP) from when it kicks in until about 43mph its a neck breaker. The acceleration is fantastic and it sounds great. Right now I've topped out at a verified 50.46 mph, but this is balls out with a lean on the seat. Its hard to break 50 when ever i want. From what i can tell its still running a bit rich, im going to experiement with some more down jetting as well as ordering a set of gears that are now available from scooterswapshop.com http://scooterswapshop.com/store/scoote ... F05E-gears . With these changes i believe 50 and beyond will be easy.

I am planning on eventually doing a full rebuild from the case up i would like to use a race crank http://scooterswapshop.com/store/scoote ... rank-af05e aswell as experiement with some porting (something ive never done before) I believe matching up the exhaust as well as the jug with the intake will greatly improve performance further. Last on the list is to add a new clutch which will only improve the already great power off the start.

I was doing 50-53 on average on my 65cc polini aero build top speed on GPS was 57. Running at about 8500-9k average rpm and toped out at 10100k but it was with some extremely light rollers and didn't give me and speed just an amazing take off. My 0-45 was insane lol. I had some 9.1 af16 gears machined to fit and they were perfect from take off to top speed. I've never used malossi af05 gears.
Set up was polini 65cc bbk, malossi wild lion pipe, 21mm oko with uni, polini for ruckus variator 32 gram roller load, with met rims, and a polini 2 shoe ajustable clutch with a aftermarket bell. Was a sweet ride!

Yeah it's not cheap. I got a deal on a full stock af16 cover to rear axel for $50, plus 9.1s for $30 from someone here in a package deal, and my car machanic only charged me $20 to cut down the counter gear shaft about a 1/8th inch and press the final gear on. So about $100 for me. Would prolly be $200-250 at full price.
Excited to see the malossi results! Building a AF05 to do over 50mph is very rewarding and not an easy feat!

Nice i think gears will make a huge difference. Definitely my next buy!

It looks pretty d*** sexy. Muffler bracket lines up ok? I'm assuming it does but the pic looked like they were off to the rear about 1/2"

Yes I plan on doing sound clips and video. Sorry I'm an engineering student and finals are among me. I will get those uploade over winter break an hopefully some data with gears installed ;).

Nice write-up. Flash 1 and Flash 2 both went 58 MPH and change, possibly a bit more but I didn't have GPS to prove it. That was with the LeoVince SP-3 (kit #4447) the only pipe available to me at the time, and Polini 2:1 primaries or 7.83:1 final drive. I never saw more than 9600 RPM with the Polini and Malossi top ends, and believe the pipe was the main reason. You should bust 60 if you can score 8:44 gears or so.
