wheres the ignition code

Post by trains420 »

how do i find the ignition code on my scooter to get a key made? i can't find it and i've looked at it, i don't see no code. i took the front cover off and looked at the back and see nowhere where a code is. do i have to take it off, and bend something, um turn something, pull something off, what to get to the ignition code. i've got the front cover off my scooter planning on putting it back on soon, and would like to know.
here's what i see
uh them pictures
do i have to take it off and it's behind that things that's bolted on there.

Key Coding

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Unknown on your scooter due to lack of model/year information.

On the 2001, I had to remove the switch completely from its bracket. The code stamp was facing away from what was visible with the switch mounted. It's a short alpha-numeric sequence - maybe 4-5 digits - that Honda-san can use to program his key-cutter. Works great!
