HARD STARTING COLD AND WARM

Hey everbody, great forum you got here. new to scooter scene, have a 87 spree use at dragstrip,son-in-law races a skidoo snowmobile runs in the 10.50 range, lots of fun.promblem i have is hard starting both cold and warm any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Cold start requires no throttle and crank until fuel gets into carb. If no start with proper technique usually means the bystarter is inoperative. This can mean a bad bystarter or plugged passages in the carb with a good bystarter.

Warm start can require a small application of throttle.

Pop the float bowl and look in the bowl for a microscopic passageway (I missed it many times). That's like a pilot jet passageway for the electric choke (bystarter). It was the problem with both of mine.
