Engine/piston work
Can anyone tell me where to find detailed directions on taking apart the engine? I replaced the cylinder gasket but I am still not getting higher than 30 PSI for compression so I think a ring went evern though the cylinder is not marred or scratched.
Re: Engine/piston work
wait, did you replace the top(metal gasket)? and were you getting above 30 psi before?

Re: Engine/piston work
Does it run? If it does, let it run for maybe 15 min. Piston rings expand as they warm up. So if you hook a compression tester to your motor you are going to get a low reading. Just from experience....

If it runs with a compression of 30 PSI it will be the first engine in history to do so.Buzzingbee89 wrote:Does it run? If it does, let it run for maybe 15 min. Piston rings expand as they warm up.
