on my aero.
before i swapped the engine for the '93 AF05E currently in place, they worked fine
the cable is pulling the lever arm thing, the lever is moving the brake cam, and the brake pads are expanding... as they should. but when i put the wheel on, there's ZERO resistance on the hand lever and no braking. i turned the brake adjuster nut all the way in to see if it would fix it, but nothing. and there's plenty of material left on the brake pads.
does the 93 elite rim have a smaller hub diameter or something? i'm using the old '85 rim. why doesnt my brake work?!
rear brake doesn't work!

Re: rear brake doesn't work!
Are the brake shoes on the new set up the same diameter as the old one? If the new ones are smaller, there is your problem.

Re: rear brake doesn't work!
I just check the wheel. The Stock rim had a 95mm break drum. Ran it with stock wheel and metro rim.
Any luck or new news?

Re: rear brake doesn't work!
as i just finally re-assembled everything a day or two ago, i'm kinda hesitant to take everything apart again and i'm hoping it's an obvious problem i'm overlooking that can be fixed....
but my chances are lookin' slim. i don't get it, i saw the brake pads expand with my own eyes with the wheel off when i squeezed the brake lever...

Re: rear brake doesn't work!
Yes, but if the brake drum is bigger than the original drum, the shoes won't reach the drum, hence no brakes. If the brakes worked with the original wheel, then there isn't much else it can be.drizzle wrote:as i just finally re-assembled everything a day or two ago, i'm kinda hesitant to take everything apart again and i'm hoping it's an obvious problem i'm overlooking that can be fixed....
