elite 50 running slower than ever!

I have a 2001 elite 50s i derestricted, added a no restriction air filter and jetted to 100, and was running great approx 39mph. Then i ordered some mods. I put on a oko variator kit 2k clutch springs, 1k center spring and went up to 66g roller weights. I got up to about 41 mph. Then i tryed 8.44 final drive gears w/42g weights and now im going approx 37mph. Ive also tryed every roller weight combination i can with a 36 pack of weights. Compression is at 133. I weigh approx 170lbs. My cousins running 47 mph with 2000 elite 50sr. With same oko variator and 46g weights. He weighs appox 135lbs.... Will 35lbs make this much of a difference or did i majorly screw something up? I know 8.44 gears is a little low for stock 50cc but 72cc cortesa is coming this winter (hopefully). What did i do??? Need to get one last good scoot in before the snow comes!!!!

when was the last time you put a new belt on it?

measured the belt at 14.5mm its right there, will that make that big of difference?

it has for me but i didnt have the same setup as u

Not enough power to run them gears, install them with the corsa.

yup gonna swap them gears back to stock, until i get the bbk. but not much of a increase with the rest of the setup up. any ideas why?

Service limit is 15mm, a new belt might help. A belt within specs will ride higher on variator than a worn belt. 35 pounds of weight difference is probably contributing to the lower speed some but not much.
