center stand drags when i take corners
title says it all, 1985 aero50 makes a loud scraping noise on both sides when i take corners in my usual manner(motoGP style) feels like i could still lean more... has anyone come with a fix for this? I have thought about either heating and bended the ends up with a torch or trying to make a side stand and just remove the center all together

Re: center stand drags when i take corners
just lookd at the aero and leaned it over and stuff and it would appear that the ends of the stand finally touch about the same time my wheels come off the ground sooo im thinking my wieght must sag the suspension enough to make the stand drag would a stiffer shock help or would a taller shock help

Re: center stand drags when i take corners
Greetings:
I modified both my Aero and Elite stands when I installed taller tires and shocks..
I still drag them routinely going around one particular bend.
Aside from nighttime spark shows and underwear skidmarks, narrowing the left side carries the disadvantage of having to fumble around with my Florsheims to find the stub.
I keep the stand because I can work either tire or drop an engine without hunting down a crate.
I'll remove it if I ever have a track day, but something even more dangerous will drag. At leadt the stand has a cushion to compress and warn before I High-Side...

Re: center stand drags when i take corners
i took my stand off heated it up with a torch and beat the second bend out of the peg so it points up instead of straight out, and then i just grinded the other side into a wedge shape on the end and hopelly won't catch as much but i doubt it gave me much more lean clearance. overall it seems just as easy to deploy from either side as it was before

Greetings:
Nice work! Yhe upward angle should give you a few degrees. Sometimes that's all you need.

The proper term for what a bench grinder has done to something is "ground". Didn't you have no book learnin'?
