Issues with 87 SE50

Post by Feral_Sparky »

So ive been running an old Honda Elite for about 1200 miles or so and I got it running great. The not so great part is I am only getting around 40-50MPG. I cant find any leaks. new fuel lines, new petcock and carb is great and it runs perfect but I am getting really low mpg no matter how I ride.

So does anyone have any idea's on what it might be? A possible leak somewhere?

That doesn't sound that out of whack to me... it's stock I assume? What are others getting with their bikes?

I've got a tech doc on low MPG... look at that list.

If you are burning too much gas, it is not caused by a vacuum leak.

Dirty air filter, wrong or worn out spark, carb needs adjustment (check the float setting first, because the idle mixture screw is not causing this problem).

It's what we're here for.

50 miles, 1/2 gallon, 100 MPG.
