Electric Starter Issues on my 2001 Honda SA50

I have a 2001 Honda Elite SA50 with an upgraded 82cc Big Bore Kit installed. She runs great, in fact I just broke her down and rebuilt her tighter and more sealed for greater compression and it's like a whole new bike a second time.

My problem is that the electric start quit working after I reassembled her. The starter sounds like it's spinning but not grabbing or something. I don't think the starter has gone bad, anyone have any theories on this issue??? Thank you for your time.

Malfunctioning (or missing?) Bendix? It's the cone-shaped assembly that slips in behind the outer front pulley. It's #2 Here.

It's there, I did remove it though and the starter wouldn't work after I put it back. Just makes a spinning noise.

I just found another Bendix I had laying around, I'll try that one real quick... thanks and wish me luck.

check battery and see how charged? it is. make sure it's fully charged.
