Did the battery die from too much light-testing, or is there a current drain somewhere?

Blew a head gasket. How? Not sure. My friend diagnosed it, new head gaskets will be in on Thursday.

Re: 1986 Spree restoration
BTW dont know fi you have replaced that flasher relay yet that everyone was giving you such a hard time about but if there is a truck stop near you, you should be able to get one for 5 or 6 bucks as opposed to 15 or 20 for an old one that came on Spree. Any 2 prong 12v flasher relay should work. I got a heavy duty flasher relay from the truck stop for my c70 passport and come to find out my bulb was blown hahah soo i have had it in my junk box till I noticed one was missing on this other Spree I got so I hooked it up and works fine will save you a few bucks

Re: 1986 Spree restoration
Thanks. I guess I didn't update that. I bought a flasher from Autozone (the guy that worked there had the same problem and gave me a part that'd work) it was slightly different so I crimped some ends on the exposed wires (that I exposed) and they work now. However I haven't been able to test them yet since my motor has been not running.Mystic wrote:BTW dont know fi you have replaced that flasher relay yet that everyone was giving you such a hard time about but if there is a truck stop near you, you should be able to get one for 5 or 6 bucks as opposed to 15 or 20 for an old one that came on Spree. Re: 1986 Spree restoration
I am starting to hate everything about this moped. Every thing is annoying about it. Now, the fuel lines shrunk, and won't reach the carb.
Re: 1986 Spree restoration
how could they shrink that much??? Sure there routed proper??

Re: 1986 Spree restoration
I have no clue. They were off for one night. now they hardly touch the carb. If I strech them on and put the clamp on the slide back off and the lines really tight.dun rite wrote:how could they shrink that much??? Sure there routed proper??
Re: 1986 Spree restoration
either some one cut your fuel line without telling you, or you pick up a different line instead.

Re: 1986 Spree restoration
Once again, another dumb question. What do both of the lines do? Is one a vaccuum? Or is it a return? Either way I need to get new lines, I was wondering if it made a difference. All I know is that they're all of a sudden too short to be used on this moped. :/
Re: 1986 Spree restoration
The top line off the petcock is the fuel feed from the tank to the carb.adios1344 wrote:Once again, another dumb question. What do both of the lines do? Is one a vaccuum? Or is it a return? The bottom line is the vacuum to operate the valve in the petcock, so that fuel will only flow when the engine in being cranked or running.

Re: 1986 Spree restoration
How can you not reinstall the petcock properly? Now connecting the lines backward yeah, but actually installing the petcock on the tank is pretty tough to screw up.wood10214 wrote:did you re-install your petcock correctly?adios1344 wrote:Once again, another dumb question. Re: 1986 Spree restoration
I've taken the petcock off once to empty the tank, but it screwed back in, and have never removed the lines from the petcock. This is someone else's doings. (I know you weren't even mentioning me in that, but I though I'd clear it up)Bear45-70 wrote:How can you not reinstall the petcock properly?
