breaking down and buying a new exhuast. please help

Post by Beansdaddy09 »

hello i recently bought a sickly 87 honda elite. i was gonna try to diy the exhaust to de-restrict it but i hear pros and cons and not sure if i really want to ruin it so what i was wanting to do is buy a new unrestricted exhaust that comes from another honda model. I have been receiving help from evilone here on this forum but i just cant seem to find his email that told me everythig i needed to know about which exhaust to buy. so if someone could please help me and list what years and model exhaust's fit my 1987 Honda Elite SE50P (heavily restricted). any help i can get quickly would be greatly appreciated, im low on money and if i dont buy the exhaust today, i worry it could be months before i have any extra money around again. thank you all for your time. Im gonna try again to put a pic of my baby on here they never seem to work when i do but ill hold my breath this time .

Greetings:

That fEeBaY seller is trying to attract the attention of ALL Honda's 2-stroke owners with his ad. Something that fits the Spree will NOT fit your '87 SE50, despite the fact that their (very) different engines share the AF05E engine code designation. Judging from the pic, the exhaust flange appears to point straight back, which is different from the 45-degrees to the right on your Elite's SE/05 jug.

However, This may fit.

Greetings:

Exhausts from Aero, 1985-87 only, and SE50 and SA50 Elite models 1987-1993 ONLY will fit your '87 Elite. Note that the 1988-'89 Elite "E" models are basically Spree blocks. Their exhausts do NOT fit yours.

Greetings:

QUITE RIGHT - the Aero/Early Elite use the #4447 kit. I hadn't noticed when I cited the link from Scooter-Center. Good catch. I'm not sure how many of either kit are left gathering German dust on the back shelves. Probably not many...

This first one looks like the one you need BUT it is canadian so i'm not 100% positive.

And i'm ignorant about non-usa models. It looks exactly like the muffler you need, the pipe is not one size all the way down which is what makes the se50p muffler restricted. I'm 95% sure based on the pic.

The only thing that makes me 5% un-sure is the "SB" in the title.
