Re: Whats the proper gear oil weight?
k one more question ill be putting my bbk on my scooter this weekend whats a good cylinder head temp range to look for? whats cold whats average and whats Lean?
Re: Whats the proper gear oil weight?
I had to let a scooter tech work on my Elite 80. The crank seal was leaking and I dont have the tools, so I opted to allow a professional (friend too) to make some money. Upon completion, he informed me that he put 80/90 gear oil in my trans. That is when I first discovered that the recommended oil is 10 W 40. Michigan riders probably safe with 10 W 30. swimmingfree probably using lard.

Re: Whats the proper gear oil weight?
I use coconut oil mixed with pineapple juice. j/k.
In reallity I am using gear oil, synthetic. I've used 10w40 too. I've used either or.
You can use what the manual says or try different oils depending on how 'adventurous' and 'daring' you might be.
Yes, my engine hasn't blown up yet.
No, I really wouldn't try and recommend the coconut oil/ pineapple mix.
