intake threads trashed.... i need help
Well when inspecting the reeds and intake on my spree i relized the previous owner had stripped out the thread for on of the bolts that hold the intake to the block. In reading through of the posts it sounds like helicoil is the best way to fix this problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what size insert and kit i need to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Greetings:
The kit is M6 - 6mm threads.
A riskier but possible option is to tap whatcha got with a 1/4" x 20 Thread-per-inch tap, then just use standard SAE 1/4"bolts to screw... um, fasten 'er down.

Just do the helicoil. Then you wont mix up a stupid US thread fastener for a metric one.

Thread chaser, slightly larger is the cheapest easiest option.

A thread chaser is just a tap for cutting threads. Not really the best way to go in aluminum.
