Does this look right to you?
Stock spree. Or at least I think it is. I'm cleaning and bringing it up to date.

Re: Does this look right to you?
Nope. Not with a snapped bolt like that.
Re: Does this look right to you?
I knew it. So I just need a new bolt? And is this easy to fix?
Re: Does this look right to you?
The head of that bolt though, is attached to the cylinder. Wait for one of the spree experts, they'll let you know what to do.

Re: Does this look right to you?
you'll need to take the exhaust off, and get that broken stud out. or else you'll just have a leak
i'd block the exhaust port with a rag, and soak that stud in PB Blast. clamp a vise-grip on it, and work it back and forth. will probably even need to heat it up with MAP gas or something similar

Is the stud supposed to be able to slide in through the back or is it part of the flange itself?SuprasNsprees wrote:you'll need to take the exhaust off, and get that broken stud out. or else you'll just have a leak

Re: Does this look right to you?
the stud screws into the flange just the same as the one of the bottom that isn't broken . it's so rusty that it looks all one piece, but it just simply threads into itJustin80 wrote:Is the stud supposed to be able to slide in through the back or is it part of the flange itself?SuprasNsprees wrote:you'll need to take the exhaust off, and get that broken stud out. or else you'll just have a leak

Re: Does this look right to you?
Ok I might start with a wire brush.
Glad to see the studs arent built into the head.

yeah dude. it's even a common size you'll find at a hardware store
the hard part will be getting it out without beaking it off flush with the flange. why i suggested working it loose rather than just going at it aggressively. a little heat+PB Blast goes a long way

Re: Does this look right to you?
You can dip your exhaust plug rag in 2t oil to hold better and act as a barrier to keep the penetrating oil out. Starting with a wire brush is good. Spray the front and back with penetrating oil or even some ATF. You will have to do this several times. I would not use a torch for this application the gas tank is above you and there are vapors in that engine case. The flash from the penetrating oil could ignite 20 years of spilt oil and cause havoc. The only safe way to torch it is to remove the cylinder. Time is your friend. Spray a little on the stud every few couple hours and brush it to remove more. You can replace it with another stud or use a bolt. M6
