This is correct, right?
Edit: I found this, which makes me think the previous owner mixed up the fuel/vac lines. Maybe?
Reinstalling carb- where do the two hoses go on the bottom?

If the red braided line is connected to the petcock per your photo and to the carb fuel inlet then the fuel and vac lines are swapped. This is correct, right?
The pic of vacuum line and petcock in this thread is from the wiki. It is the OEM confirmed setup.
Related: Wiki has a diagram of petcock internals. Fuel comes out from the top, vacuum on bottom

Ok, time to do some hose replacement. Wont cost you more then $3 from the local lawn supply like home depot etc.
Go to Home depot or your local lawn store and buy a foot of 1/4 and 3/16 fuel line. 1/4 goes to the fuel hose and the 3/16 goes to the petcock Always best to just buy new since its cheap and that braided cable is prob 20 years old.
Also a good idea while your at it to get a clear 1/4 fuel filter while you are there. If home depot does not have it, auto zone will. And attach it while your fitting the new line as getting it off once its on is HARD. Best to get it on the first time.

Irregardless of whether the fuel line reaches or not, you should replace it as those old line will get eaten on the inside by the rotten gas we have today and plug up your carb. I prefer clear lines for replacement as you can see what is going on inside them. Oh and next time take a picture before you disassemble something. It will save you this type of head ache.

Re: Reinstalling carb- where do the two hoses go on the bott
All's good with replacing tubing
Honda did much all around (mechanical/electricals) to give clues, however subtle.
For OEM fuel and vac lines, Honda used a larger bore hose and carb fitting than the vacuum side. You can look at the tubing id, and figure out the best fit vs will fit. That will get the hoses connected correctly.
If you like to go the extra mile on replacement, keep the different sized tubing, or uniquely mark both ends between vacuum vs fuel.
