2001 elite 50 restrictor removal

Just bought a 2001 elite 50.I want to get more speed from this bike 25 MPH is too slow.I have been told that I can get to 35-40 by removing plates from exhaust and variator.I have no idea what there things are and where to find them.can anyone help walk me though this?

yep - its covered many times on this board

however simply put- on the S, de-restricting consists of:

-drilling out a washer in the exhaust
-opening the air box
-re-jetting the carb
-and zip-tieing the oil pump open

as for the plate over the roller weights, search for it
