Re: how to replace crank seals
well there's most of your problem.
That huge hose adds cc's to the head and misrepresents the compression reading.

Re: how to replace crank seals
why do you think the compression is low? What did you tear this engine down?
was is the going over bump stall issues still?

Re: how to replace crank seals
I was riding it one night and everything was fine then lost power, had to limp it home
I guess I never tried a compression reading when I got it from you... You think that hose really makes a difference? Only thing I have done since was rebuild the top end. The cut out issue was taken care of when I swapped the oko carb for the Keihin carb (oko float was goofy)

Re: how to replace crank seals
yes the hose can affect reading by as much as 15psi
Leaking crank seals would not not be a likely reason to loose all power.
If the piston was not scratched and the rings were not stuck to it, the compression is probably fine.

Re: how to replace crank seals
Interesting, I'll button everything back up this weekend and see what happens. I am going to run a 60 pilot and either 135 or 140 main on that 28mm keihin. Very least I have replacement seals if I need to....

Re: how to replace crank seals
not sure what the * the issue was. I buttoned everything back up, running a 60 pilot, 140 main and it runs flawless now. I think the top end worked itself slightly loose when I lost power.
Either way - seems great now. My only only slight issue is that it seems like my idle is fine, but to start moving i need to bring my revs up a considerable amount - but once it gets going it gets going fast. probably does about 60-65

Re: how to replace crank seals
If I can remember correctly - I have a Keli Medium Clutch and we swapped in Polini 1000 triple springs - not sure if they were 1000's , pretty sure though. I know for a fact we swapped in polini's into that clutch. The big center spring was 1000 or 1500 yellow spring.

Re: how to replace crank seals
do a comp test now that it is back on the scooter.
It is eaiser to kick on the scooter.
the large grab springs are the reason it revs before it moves.

Re: how to replace crank seals
hmmm - are you familiar with anyone who sells smaller rated triple springs? Would this be comparable to a higher stall auto trans on a car? (would assume so)

Re: how to replace crank seals
I had the polini natural springs in mine, made it very none street friendly. Went back to stock ones.
