hey guys- i have a 89 elite e- currently in the process of installing a se50 engine in it. i was wondering what front end disc swaps are an option for my scooter, i have a friend who can weld as well.. from what i understand the elite se50 front end is a dirrect swap- minus disc brakes of course.. thanks

just do the se50 front forks :imo:

If you must have disc brakes, the live dio zx,dio zx af28,dio sr or any of the dio's that have disc brake are plug and play.

those look like sym dd50 disc brakes, although I'm not 100% certain.
Trafficjamz gave a great list and your options are virtually unlimited because you have access to a welder. :)

anyone ever run the aftermarket gears on the se50 before? they seem really tall- i dont want to have a slow scoot with high top end

Greetings:

I had the Malossi 2:1 primaries on Flash-es I and II. Both were kitted 65ccs, Polini and Malossi respectively, with adapted manifold, 24mm carbs and LeoVince pipe. With enough power, the gears aren't bad once the clutch fully engages - provided you tune the vari to apply Full Grunt and the clutch to engage at a high RPM - like 5500. It was a bit painful from 0 to 8 or 10 MPH, but as I said in a previous post, subsequent acceleration depends on the variator.
