There is a hole about the size of a nickel in the side of my spree muffler about half way down. When the scooter runs there is exhaust coming out of my muffler in two places, the hole in the side and the back where it is supposed to come out. Scooter runs fine but possibly a bit noisy, and once in awhile the idle varies after it has run for a bit and once it died.
So how does this effect my scooter? Should i get another muffler or leave it? Can i plug the hole with like a sheet metal screw and some washers or should i leave it?
Can it be welded? OK, thats all the newb type questions i can think of for now, thx.
hole in my muffler.

Go to the auto parts store, and get a roll of exhaust repair foil tape. Worked wonders on my moms old 87 golf cart. Lasted about 13 years with the tape on until she sold it last summer.
