2 busted inner tubes

Post by sickelf »

I bought a couple 10x2.75 inner tubes for my Honda 87' NB50 from monster scooter parts. Both popped after 2 weeks. Has anyone else had issues with their parts? Since I have to take everything apart again, I was thinking of putting on a 10x3 rear tire. I think I read here that its possible. Can anyone recommend one they used?

Greetings:

I agree with Swim. Inspect the inner wall of the tire carefully for splits as well as screws, wire, nails, rattlesnake fangs.
The tire to get for the Aero is a 3.00 or a 90/90. If you go for the latter, consider sourcing Honda Metropolitan rims for a better tire profile. They're wider, and you can put tubes in the trash can. None required with these "for-Tubeless" 2.15" wide rims.

Arg! Back tire went flat again. The last tire I took the tire off the rim all together, ran a rag and my fingers along inside of tire multiple times to find foreign objects, did the same with the rim. Nothing! Am I just to heavy? I weigh 220. I'm not sure what to do next.

Greetings you sickelf.... :hi:
The age-old, tried and true method of finding a leak in a tube/tire is simple.
A. Obtain a spray-bottle, such as a Windex bottle.

B. Fill bottle with mixture of water and dish-soap.
10% soap is adequate

C. inflate tire or tube to normal pressure.

D. spray entire tire/tube and watch for bubbles.

E. The slower the leak, the smaller the bubbles.

not sure if posting the same thing on 2 or more threads is frowned upon or even noticed, but i got a flat on my 89 elite e today and was just wondering:

A) where to go to have the tube and possibly the tire replaced
B) does the tire even need to be replaced as long as the tube is good to go (there's a 3/4inch to 1 inch long small split along the centerline tread)
C) is my 260ish pound self too big for these tires/tubes
D) what is my best option as far as brands of tubes and tires that'll support my weight?

performance-wise, my scooter isn't even phased by my weight, she'll carry me up hill at no less than 25
