Grease the Inner Boss ?

Post by bubonik »

Do i need to grease the inner portion of the boss when it goes back on the crank ?
is it fluid transfer of the motion or dry transfer ?

Greetings:

Dunno whatcha mean by fluid and dry transfer, but here's my answer.
Theoretically grease would slow the wear on the inner diameter of the variator, that travels to and fro across the boss. However the risk of greasing up the belt - with detrimental effect on grip, therefore performance - isn't worth it. If you do decide to grease, go light and use something resistant to melting at high temperatures. I don't use any.

The boss is on the outside of the crank and has nothing to do with fluid.
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!
