Post by DENMANSHAFFER »

Does anyone have any specific information about the NQ50 HO model? I have all the manuals etc. for the regular NQ50, but cant find any specific info on the HO model.

Never heard of an HO model???
I have a 1986 red Honda Spree
mods: uni prefilter, two 3/8 inch holes drilled in airbox lid, drilled jet out from .026 to .0292.

I also have a 1999 Yamaha Blaster
stock except Graydon Proline Nerfs Holeshot tires and aluminum rims.

SPREE HO MODEL

Post by DENMANSHAFFER »

I'VE BEEN TOLD IT STANDS FOR "HIGH OUTPUT". MINE HAS A SMALL TURBOCHARGER AND IS FUEL INJECTED. I THINK THE DISPLACEMENT IS THE SAME AS REGULAR SPREE', BUT SOMEBODY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A 65 CC DISPLACEMENT. I HAVEN'T PULLED THE HEAD NOR FOUND ANY LITERATURE SO I'M NOT SURE. I KNOW THIS, IT NEEDS PLUS GAS TO RUN RIGHT.

thats cuz they never made one, they did make fuel injected marine engines, aprillia made a fuel injected 2 stroke sr-50 called a ditech but if you programmed the brain box wrong it would blow the engine.
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!

NQ65 HO SPREE

HONDA TOLD ME THAT THE CORRECT DESIGNATION WAS THE ABOVE AND THAT THE MODEL WAS A VERY SHORT RUN WITH A HIGH PERFORMANCE 65CC ENGINE. HONDA APPARENTLY DECIDED THE SPREE FRAME COULD NOT HANDLE THE INCREASED PERFORMANCE OF THE TURBO ENGINE AND BIG BORE.

i don't really buy it. honda wasn't turboing two strokes for limited models, as there is quite a bit of engineering involved in the pressurizing of a two stroke

This whole thread is pointless without pics. If you cannot post pics, then you are most likely not telling the truth.

Anyone can go and make a "turbo fuel injection" sticker and slap it on a spree. This proves nothing to me. How come you are not showing the exhaust??? Take a pic of the whole thing, the engine, and the turbo.

i call troll. judging by the pixelation around the turbo decal, he photochopped that on there. and the pic is meant to * with you as far as half loading.

worst thread evar.

NQ65 HO SPREE

Post by DENMANSHAFFER »

Image
THE SPREE ON THE FAR LEFT IS THE HO MODEL. OUTWARDLY IT IS IDENTICAL TO THE NQ50 IN THE CENTER,EXCEPT FOR THE GRAPHICS ON THE SKIN. I WILL TAKE SOME PICTURES OF THE ENGINE WHEN I HAVE TIME TO TAKE COVERS OFF. I THINK THE TURBO SAID "DENSO" ON IT AND LITTLE INJECTOR SAID "KEIHIN".
THE TURBO IS MOUNTED DIRECTLY AFTER THE EXHAUST PORT AND THE MUFFLER BOLTS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TURBO. THE INJECTOR IS BOLTED TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND GOES INTO THE REED VALVE.
FROM THE OUTSIDE, YOU CANT TELL THE NQ65 FROM AN NQ50.
THE TURBO KICKS IN ABOUT 25 MPH AND TAKES THE SCOOTER TO AROUND 50. REAL STRONG MID AND TOP END.
