Carb tuning 85 spree

Post by Feelingspree »

My 85 honda spree is not running as it should. It runs OK when I tape the air intake shut about 75%. What could be causing this. I'm thinking it might be the auto choke not working properly.

Is the air box installed? If so, does it have a good filter inside and is it sealed properly? These are all things that can cause your issue.

The plug gap is at 28 right now. It will run perfectly for a few seconds to a minute or two then it will lose rpm's for a minute or two then right back again but, that is only with the intake holes taped at about 75% closed. All this is happening whether under a load or not.

And I will reset the plug to 25, haven't done it yet, Will do that this evening. It's cold and rainy here in Texas so putting it on the street is an everyday "maybe thing" for the time being.

OK installed new plug gapped at 25. Runs better but still needs intake closed 50%
