Slow 84 Honda Spree

Post by Quantrill »

Hi, about a week ago my spree was reaching a top speed of 25 mph (Full Throttle). This week it is maxing out at 20 mph, its really inconvenient as I ride to the store and such on main streets with a limit of 30 mph, is there any reason for this slow speed? Do I need to clean or replace anything? Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Try posting in Technical help... I'm pretty new to this stuff too but it could be a host of things. Can you describe what lead up to the slow down? were you putting oil in it regularly?

I agree with swimming free about the belt. It's easy to check with out removing it. Just pull the cover and measure the belt width. I would also check everything else. Could be running rich from carbon build up in the pipe or exhaust port or both.
