Kymco tail light on Elite

Anyone know which year Kymco people are using on their Elite's or is this made for the JAPAN Elites, and the tail light was made by KYmco?

The tail light was commissioned by Honda through kymco I've been told. The kymco zx50 light is not interchangeable for sure.

I do have a few kymco lights in stock, but I couldn't tell you the year. They work perfect on our us elite's.

At the same time, the Japanese manufacturer dispatched engineers to KYMCO, which was established the previous year, to oversee the assembly process.

Honda was seeking an efficient way to advance into overseas markets, while KYMCO was eager to absorb advanced technology.
The interest of the two companies coincided, and they formed a transnational ÔÇØmaster-pupilÔÇØ relationship.

Honda stopped supplying KYMCO with technical know-how in 1994 and ended capital ties in 2003.

last question anyone know if the AF18 Elite's tail light will fit the SA50? Wouldn't this be classified as the
JAPAN elite?

So with that said, the Kymco light is the real deal for the replacement. I shouldnÔÇÖt waste my time investigating this further.

If you can find a refined here in the US let me know. Big in oz and nz but not so much here.

Refined is nonresistant in the USA, maybe out neighbors to the south down in Mexico may have them. I'll have to go on a field trip one of these days.

no just trying to get the tail light assembly for a lot less than what people are selling them. I know Kymco stuff is fairly cheaper overseas. I'm going to see what my wife's brother can do for me out in Hungary. I'll either go with the Kymco light, which has no relation to Honda after researching today... The may have made parts for Honda but they never made the taillights, they copied them off of the real deal which is the Honda Tact Af16. So the OEM light which works for the UDSM SA50 and keeping it Honda is from the Tact Af16...



it's the exact scooter except the headlight and taillight everything else is the same..

Yeah that's the one i see the conversion rate is about... 28-30 bucks USD, and then shipping maybe the killer. I'm going to contact a buddy of mine that just moved to Japan. I want to look at getting some parts sent out this way. I'd also like to get a mint set of panels and try to find a shop to duplicate them in carbon or kevlar. The baller setup!



Thanks again guys and hope i helped define where the actual JDM taillights are coming from. with that said i'm pretty sure the Headset from the tact would be a direct swap with no fabrication. This is just an assumption based off the fork setup. Now if i can find an actual parts break down for the TACT AF16 to make sure some of the part numbers match.
