Motor Swap Shock Mount

Post by Drifter562 »

Hey guys just had few questions im doing a swap on my spree I have a 85 spree and im swapping in a se50 motor I got everything done but the shock mount devenex told me about an rd34 mount but I guess the member nonlonger makes them. Im going to do it on my own but how would I go about doing so, I would assume I would have to drill a hole by the regulator to fit a bolt that the shock would mount to? What size boltwould I use or how would I go about doing this? Thank you guys

When I did my shock mount I used a motor mount bolt. Was the perfect diameter and length to go throught the frame. I can't remember which motor mount bolt but just match it up with the shock one is much bigger than the other.

I have seen references to 10mm x 140 long in builds. That lines up with the frame side mounting bolt for AF05 and AF16. Honda P/N BOLT, FLANGE (10X140) 95801-10140-00

Graphite9 makes a kit for shock relocation on the spree, or do as Curtis said with the engine mount bolt that's been welded into the frame through a hole you drill on both sides of the frame.

I have updated the 'wiki topic to add photo info for Spree shock mounts. Link - Click me!

I am looking for pics of a 'drill through frame' for the shock mounting bolt. My search terms have been laying goose eggs for a reference example example. Thanks!
