Colorado Jetting

Post by cjmx »

I plan on bringing my 86 spree out to Denver and was wondering if any one had any tips on high altitude jetting. Specifically the smaller jet sizes and part numbers. Also what position to raise the clip on the jet needle or if I should replace it with a different size altogether.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What elevation are you running?

You can play with the needle jet setting (see manual,) main jet is a #65. Try running as is and adjust if your plug chops look too rich.

Thanks for the reply

elevation here in denver is 5280ft. I really think I will need a smaller main jet. Does any one have a part number or know where to order jets online?

Be careful with the leaner mixture, easy to burn a piston on these. Good luck.
