Use a spray adhesive so you have an even coat. Permatex Copper spray is ideal for this. Do 2 coat minimum 3 coats max. Allow 30 seconds minimum between coats but I do 30 minutes minimum. 2 coats should always be good but if the surface is really buggered it might need that extra bit.
Final cure can be none or over night it's up to how comfortable you are with sticky gaskets. Over night and they'll be cured, 30 minutes still tacky.

This was my first time using copper spray on my mhr motor and I really like it, it creates a great seal and helps hold the gasket in place during assembly as well.

Does your mhr use a metal base gasket? Or paper/fiber?

Just on the case halves. I used it on the sled motor I rebuilt.

Malossi/Mhr uses fibre base gaskets, polini uses metal base gaskets. Anaerobics are good also but the cure is longer than some want to wait. You use Anaerobics when you're building intricate engines like * when you don't need any oxygen to cure the sealant.

I know metal gaskets are good, but they dont have the ability to compensate for less than ideal mating surfaces like a paper gasket does. Just trying to decide if I should use some copper spray or something else on my base gasket. I have some permatex version of Hylomar blue which I have considered also. It does well with gasoline and never totally dries.

I plan on using copper spray on my corsa gasket helps seal any small scratches and I like that.

No you have it wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Hondabond ht and yamabond 4 are the same thing.

HONDABOND HT AND YAMABOND 4 ARE THE SAME THING.

I'm not yelling I'm trying to save people from getting confused by your post codename. If you read what I've wrote over and over you would have seen this, or if you even used google. You are on the Internet already you know. Google.com
I'm going to go to the dealer tomorrow to find out what they're calling yamabond ht.
