1984 Aero 50 - where is the 7A fuse?

Post by boxpilot »

Hi,

This may seem like the noob-est question ever, which is ok, because I AM the noob-est - but, where is the fuse on the '84 Aero 50? My turn signals don't light up, while all of the rest of the lights and horn work fine, so I figure I should check the fuse, but I can't figure out where it is...

Admittedly, I haven't looked up by the headlight, and I'm wondering if it's under there . . . behind a body panel under the headlight . . .

Thanks!

It is riight on the main red (+) wire near the battery. Start by downloading the workshop manual at:

http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Manual ... Manual.pdf

The fuse is shown in a sketch called "performance test" on page 14.5 and the schematic is at the bottom the section. I think if the fuse is blown the horn wouldn't work unless the engine is running and the alternator is supplying power for the horn.

thanks vintagegarage. i had seen that in the schematics, but i was looking for the wrong kind of fuse :P, i went and looked again after reading your post and found it in it's small plastic pill shaped container!

the horn did only work when the bike was running, so i'll change the fuse and see if it makes a difference!

You will find that the fuse is NOT the problem.
MOST likely the flasher unit is bad.
Any 12-volt flasher can be substituted for the OEM unit.
Very cheap at any auto parts store.
Inspect and test all the light bulbs in the turn signals too as one bad bulb can affect the whole system.

Ah, ok motormike, thanks - I'll start with the bulbs and check the flasher!
