Need suggestions on how to start over....

Hi everyone! I am having a hard time getting my BBK to be solid... I have a couple of threads on it... Time to start over.

I'm looking to replace my motor and am hoping to spend right at $300. Anyone got any suggestions? I have a solid carb. I'm looking to get to 35-40 (40-45 would be AWESOME).

I have an 85 Spree and would like to keep the stock look and keep the swap fairly easy.

Anyone got a motor to sell? I'll post in the classifieds looking for whatever will work well for my spree.

Has ANYONE been able to get a BBK to work on a Spree? If so, Id like to know how.

I have in a buddies spree. That thing runs great, he is 260 ibs and rides it wot everywhere.

as stated above....Id like to know how.

Airbox set-up, main jet, needle position, fuel mixture, what carb/muffler he's using, etc, etc....

I never said the kits wont work. I just said that "I" couldn't get it right. Impatience and frustration consumed me so I did a motor swap instead.

Stock pipe that has the baffles drilled out, bbk, stock carb and air box, drilled two 1 inch holes in top of plastic but that was way to lean so I just started taping the top holes more and more and reading the plug till the plug read that perfect color.

Thanks for the help on here. I went with an Elite swap... Still working out the shock and clearance issues then will get her wired and install my Polini CP carb and hope for the best!
