I weight 180lbs. I have an SA50 elite 1994. I bought a polini variator and belt and am using the heavier weights that came with the polini. Im toping out at 42mph but have lost some low end pickup. Im sure people have experimented and know the right answer to this so i was hoping to get some input.
Thank you,

On a stock motor I had good luck with 7 gram weights, and I'm close to your weight. Maybe try adding an aftermarket clutch or even just stiffer clutch springs. My first mods were the same as yours plus a clutch, and I did about 44-45.
Also, did you get a kevlar belt? I've heard those are a little slower than normal ones. And the polini belts are gates, I hear bando belts are slighter wider, giving slightly more top speed but I can't personally confirm that.
