Aero 80 fuel tank
I just picked up a 1984 Aero 80, that has been sitting since 1990. The fuel tank is rusted bad. Is there any other model of scooter tanks that will fit it. Thank you
Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
As far as I know, the answer is no. But I saw one on flea-bay a while ago. Just search "Honda NH80"

Yeah, the '83 and '84 tanks are the same. The '85 tank is different.
'83-'84 = TANK SET, FUEL 175A1-GC8-671 (replaces 175A1-GC8-670) NLA (No Longer Available)

This looks like it is going to be hard to find. The one that was on Ebay is gone. I was hoping one from a 50, 125 or an Elite would fit it. I can try acid washing, and then coating it.

You might have better luck searching in Canada too. They sold more nh80 scooters there because of the differences in laws and what not.

I've been doing some searching for Aero 125 parts in England, Australia, Europe, South Africa and elsewhere in the world. With some success I must say. You are looking for parts of a Lead 80 which was made a lot more years elsewhere than here in the States.

Just keep checking back. For a while there, here in the states ther were only 2 pages of part for the Aero 125 (my current project as the Aero 80 is running) and just the other day there was suddenly 7 pages of parts.

Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
My tank is 100% rust free
The previous owner bypassed the fuel petcock for some reason.
So I assume the petcock does not work.
It does have a fuel sending unit and gas cap.
$35 plus shipping if you want it.

Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
I know it a long shot but I'm now looking for a gas tank for a 1985 Aero NH-80. I got this scooter out of an attic that was put there 15 years ago. The tank had gas in it and is now pure rust. I've had two acid baths done on it but it's shot. Any suggestions?
Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
try ebay
Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
Tried eBay. Tried craiglist. Tried every local motorcycle shop. Nobody will sandblast something that small. I'm out of ideas.

Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
Is it leaking? A lot of shops that do radiator and gas tanks will do the special coating in the tank that makes the tanknleak proof again and stops the rust in its tracks. The workshop hero product metal rescue is worth a try heard it works better than acid. http://www.metalrescue.com/home.aspx when I'm flushing a tank I toss a bunch of gravel in there or some nuts. Or both.

Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
No it is not leaking. I've spoke to a radiator shop locally and the told me If the two acid baths its been under didn't fix it then they can't do anymore to it. It had two acid baths at a motorcycle shop and they put Red-Kote in it. After driving it for about 30 minutes the brand new carb was plugged solid.
