could be something with the fuel mixture. An intake leak would give that kind of problem. Use carb clean and spray it on the intake base and such and see if it changes the running of the motor on idle.

carb

Post by uspmale »

The needle inside the slide has several grooves to adjust fuel mix.
Some have 3 and I've got some with 5 groves.
This accomodates mid-range response.
Move c-clip up or down to change fuel air mix.
The middle groove is the default clip position.
Moving the clip towards the needle point one groove will richen the mix.
Moving the clip towards the needle flat one groove will lean the mix
.
Hope this helps.

Be happy you even had a needle. When I got my Spree, I pulled my hair out trying to find the problem only to realize there was no needle in the carb.

you can always trust that, my dirtbike had great finger poppin compression, but it had 65psi compression, i think you might have low compression.

In my case I had no snap and top speed of 15 miles. I replaced the rings and nothing changed to I looked and the clutch and it was melted as soon as i took off the clutch cover you could see melted metal.
