Newbie Questions

Post by MysticPurpEliteS »

Hey Guys, I have been proud to own an original 2000 Elite S for the past month now and was looking for some help on tuning my carberator, my bike is currently fitted with a 28mm OKO carb and I was curious on what some good starting points are as far as tuning goes, such as idle speed, air fuel, float bowl adjustment and so forth, trying to get my bike running its best but still being new to the world of mopeds leaves me a bit handi cap for knowledge with some things, any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have a stock bore and pipe then a carb that big will be extremely hard to run in a tune on. 28mm is for strokers and up.
Do you have a temp gauge?

Need more info has anything else been changed? 28mm is going to be way to big imo. With my corsa I was running a 24 polini. Why did you put on the 28mm?

Thanks for the replys guys!
Current Specs is a 66cc Ruima Bore, CT Manifold, 28MM OKO, Bought The Bike This Way and looking to improve, gears are stock and so is the pipe. I agree completely on the carb being too large being that I notice many 125cc bikes will run 24mm carbs and I'm only at 66cc right now with a 28mm, just doesn't seem to equate right, bike is topping out at like 45mph right now

And to MrJumps, no I do not have a temp gauge currently but have been told that I should invest in one ASAP

Also, variator, clutch, and weights are also stock, looking to get myself up to 55mph without a larger bore kit if possible, my weight being the rider is 150lbs.
