I just got a 86 spree with 700miles on it for $50. Had been sitting for 10+ years and after cleaning looks good. I have drained all of the fluids, replaced the battery and it fired right up after a little carb cleaner.
I can run it for about 5 minutes and it gets up to about 25+ mph....then it starts to lose power and stalls. If I let it sit for a few minutes it will start up and the same things happens.
Would this point to the carb? I really would like to avoid tearing apart the carb if I can help it. Can I add anything to the fuel to help?
I'm in Orange County, California (Seal Beach)
Thanks in advance,

Air Filter
I do have an air filter and have not cleaned it...maybe I'll try and see if cleaning works...then the carb.
Anyone in the Orange County want to rebuild the carb? I wish I had the time.
