Time for a ring job?

Post by Gruvin »

Ok, the spree will start up first time i crank it. Then it will get up to 30 mph no problem, unless you crank down on the throttle, then it will bog down. then once it gets warmed up, it wont even have enough power to pull itself along without bogging down..
I have cleaned the carb several times, taped up my filter box with a brand new filter from service honda inside. Adjusted the * out of the throttle and air screws and nothing has helped..

Thoughts, suggestions?

My compression was fine..
I am at a total loss. I would like to ride the thing longer than 10 mins at a time before it wont pull itself down the street.

Well, no need for me to worry about the ring job. I went to the honda store and got a #65 fuel Jet. That was my problem all along. Clogged jet. She runs like brand new now..

Funny thing, I got the spree for 100 bucks from a guy I work with, he told me not to pay him till i got it running.. He was fired last week and I have no idea how to get a hold of him.. Looks like I only had to pay $9.00 for a perfect running spree..

Mmm. Kharma dictates that you get his address from his employer and send a check; sounds like he could use the money now.

Good info; hadn't heard of this problem from a main jet.

Funny my reply was going to be along the same line, but thinking in reverse...he knows where you work to come to get the cash!

Great to see it was rescued from a garbage pile.

Well he knows where I work, so if he wants it bad enough, he will come and get it.. though he probably wont, it sat in his garage for years I think he was just more happy to be rid of it than anything.

The guy I got mine from was so happy to be rid of it he hauled it over to my place himself.
