Gas pouring out overflow tube

Post by kavey1269 »

I rebuilt the carb on this thing and now when I try to start it it will start but not run right. Then it dies and when I try to start it gas is just pouring out the carb overflow tube on the backside of the carb. Anyone know what I did wrong?

I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Hi,
Check out the float valve too. Might have got a fleck of crud between the rubber and the seat. You might be able to blow air or carb cleaner into the fuel inlet tube and disloget it, but I'd take it apart again.

If you find it was crud check out your fuel line and tank strainer. Might need to replace/clean or put an inline filter with your carb..

No I am not sure I put it back in right. Ill take it back off and see.. how is it supposed to be? Just so I can make sure.. I thought it was right but I took it apart two weeks ago and my memory isnt the best. Took a bit to get parts.
