85 spree starter relay

is there anyone who can hook me up with some specs on this thing, can I just hook up another universal relay instead of buying another one for 35 bucks

I don't know what the starter draws max, but on the bench, free running its about 10-15 amps. Don't see why you cant substitute another relay, I might try for 30-40A 12v DC contacts. with a 12v dc coil.

Also - used relays are not that hard to find and I've seen some new aftermarket relays on eBay now and then
