Newbie Q: Mirror screw threads

Post by SanJoseMichael »

Just picked up an '85 Spree, it has no mirrors... Are these a special screw thread size, or will any generic motorcyle mirror just screw right in? Thanks!

I bought a used mirror that appeared to be the right size, however it did not screw right in, and I didn't want to risk stripping the threads on the the Spree...

Are there "US" Universal Mount and "Japanese" Universal Mount as might be used on Honda, Yamaha, etc?

Do I maybe have an SAE thread mirror when I need Metric?

Most Japanese bikes run a 10mm mirror post stub. I assume these do to.

Thanks for info on 10mm threads... I suspected that's what it may have been.
