1986 Spree belt

Post by circusracer »

Hey guys, I just found this forum. Awesome deal you got here. I just bought two 1986 sprees. I have been reading all the tips and help here and let me tell you, a big thanks to everyone that has posted any kind of help. I am wanting to do the 1/2" belt swap. Does anyone have their Spree apart that could measure the length for me? I work away from home during the week, and would like to pick up the correct belt on my way home as time is limited for me right now. Again I appreciate all the tips and help, thank you again.

This is where I am planning to get my belt from: http://www.mcmaster.com/
They are only around $8.00 each, here is the description for them.

Cogged
Cogged design offers the high flexibility needed for smaller diameter pulleys as well as increased heat dissipation for longer belt life. Belts are oil and heat resistant. Made of molded neoprene rubber with polyester reinforcing cords.

Take your belt in and they will have a belt measuring tool.

I will probably end up doing that. I was hoping to get it on my way home, save me some time. I will post the part number here when I find it. Then everyone else will be spared a little. With all the scooter freaks on here, I thought maybe someone had one apart already and couldve given me a quick measurement.

Hey there circusracer:

the specs for the belt which is used on the NQ50s and SB50s is 628 x 11.4 x 30

That's length x width x angle of belt face in mm

Make sure you get a cog style belt.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
