Post by hondaken »

It doesnt fill your exhaust port with carbon after 1000 miles
It wont gum up the injector AND STARVE THE ENGINE OF OIL
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

GN2 is a thinner oil formulated for use in the tiny injector pump and meant to burn with low carbon deposits.

no problem man, thats what the site is here for.

the way i look at it, if you hardly ride. it will take like a year to go through one thing of oil. Why not pay $3 more?

I just replaced the old (cheap) oil in 'Pasquale' with fresh Castrol 'Acteve' synthetic - allegedly optimized for2 stroke, aircooled injectors.

Is this a good choice? All the local stores were out of GN2.

Thanks.

I'm not an expert but I think that it'll be fine. I think the dark stuff is what you need to stay away from :(

i think the key words to look for is
"GN2"
"injector" thinner than premix oil
"synthetic"

no service station, weed eater, chain saw stuff..LOL Thats the Hard stuff!
haha! Remember you get what you pay for....pay now or pay later!

The rule I live by is to never use crappy oil in any 2 stroke moped. The GN2 is the best you can use for a stock application with oil injection.

I and quite a few others have modded mopeds that're modded (bigger bore, stroker, etc.) and premixing is the way to go.

Okay, then. I can tell you too things:

1. The stuff I drained was dark green-blue...

2. When the engine was started with fresh, lighter color Castrol, it belched out one HONKIN' cloud of smoke.

Should work, best is still gn2 but it will do better than the MARINE CRAP it had in it.

According to the spud @ the Kawasaki shop, Castrol's the brew of choice recommended by Lambretta for their 2 strokers. Not sure if that's a ringing endorsement or not.

So, I'll use it for awhile, but as soon as GN2 comes in, I'm there.

BTW, that marine crap is favored heartily by my '57 Johnson 7.5 hp SeaWhore. She'll be happy to know my supply of Penn 'n Valvoline won't get devoured by Pasquale. :P
