the way i look at it, if you hardly ride. it will take like a year to go through one thing of oil. Why not pay $3 more?

I just replaced the old (cheap) oil in 'Pasquale' with fresh Castrol 'Acteve' synthetic - allegedly optimized for2 stroke, aircooled injectors.Dac wrote:no problem man, thats what the site is here for.hondaken wrote:ok thanks, sorry if they sound like dumb questions, Im just curious

Is this a good choice? All the local stores were out of GN2.
Thanks.

I'm not an expert but I think that it'll be fine. I think the dark stuff is what you need to stay away from

The rule I live by is to never use crappy oil in any 2 stroke moped. The GN2 is the best you can use for a stock application with oil injection.
I and quite a few others have modded mopeds that're modded (bigger bore, stroker, etc.) and premixing is the way to go.

Okay, then. I can tell you too things:bradthreee wrote:just replaced the old (cheap) oil in 'Pasquale' with fresh Castrol 'Acteve' synthetic - allegedly optimized for2 stroke, aircooled injectors.

1. The stuff I drained was dark green-blue...
2. When the engine was started with fresh, lighter color Castrol, it belched out one HONKIN' cloud of smoke.

Should work, best is still gn2 but it will do better than the MARINE CRAP it had in it.CaptDan wrote:I just replaced the old (cheap) oil in 'Pasquale' with fresh Castrol 'Acteve' synthetic - allegedly optimized for2 stroke, aircooled injectors.Dac wrote:no problem man, thats what the site is here for.hondaken wrote:ok thanks, sorry if they sound like dumb questions, Im just curious

I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
According to the spud @ the Kawasaki shop, Castrol's the brew of choice recommended by Lambretta for their 2 strokers. Not sure if that's a ringing endorsement or not.Kenny_McCormic wrote:CaptDan wrote:Dac wrote:[

So, I'll use it for awhile, but as soon as GN2 comes in, I'm there.
BTW, that marine crap is favored heartily by my '57 Johnson 7.5 hp SeaWhore. She'll be happy to know my supply of Penn 'n Valvoline won't get devoured by Pasquale.
