Clutch and Drive Pulley Removal
Greetings:
No need to break out compressor, extension cord, hoses, Gun, impact sockets. Leverage and reliable retention moah simple, grasshopper:

I've used it several times now. Works well but takes some practice to thread on quickly around the drive gear/pulley. About ten bucks at Harbor Freight.

HF Holder Tool
Greetings:
The Harbor Freight tool worked on both the variator and the clutch bell for me. It just needs to hold 29 ft-lbs and it did.
Tricky to thread on, though...

Whack-a-Hammer
Greetings:
The trouble with the stone-axe method of mechanics usually arises not with the disassembly but with re-assembly. Honda-san specifies 29 ft.-lbs. or so for the variator and clutch nuts. Without a way to hold them from spinning, the accurate application of said torque is impossible.
I'd really hate to have one of those nuts spin loose on the road. I think I'd hate it even worse if I stripped the threads or broke a shaft. Ten bucks for a tool to avoid both is getting off easy.

Re: Whack-a-Hammer
HAhaha...I lost my clutch bell on the road once. It rolled right infront of me while i was riding when i let off the throttle. I was lucky that a car wheel smacked it. It would have rolled into the sewer drain.Wheelman-111 wrote:
