Spring Break: the week of my sa50's transformation
So I managed to fit my elite into the trunk of my ford taurus and drive it 4.5 hours down to south florida for spring break. This is the week where I plan on really making it something I'm proud of.....
Goals:
1. Clean entire bike. Get all 10 years of dirt and grime off the frame and all other parts
2. Fix broken exhaust bolt and get R1 exhaust pipe to seal tight with no leaks
3. Install new air filter I ordered
4. Paint the floorboard plastics matte black, and the rest of it XXXXXX (surprise when it's done)
5. Drill (with bits from Wheelman! thanks again!) out the jet a few sizes and get things tuned up properly
I will be posting pictures/ asking questions throughout this week, so check back
And Dac, if you're gonna be on AIM tonight, I'll definitely be hitting you up. I've got quite a few initial questions

after 2 days.....
I've realized that when I broke the exhaust bolt, the wrench must have slipped and broken off the nipple of the oil pump
I was able to pull the part with the nipple on it fairly easily, but I can't seem to find any site online that sells just that little piece. It seems like they only sell the full assembly for $100 which is ridiculous.
Any ideas?

cant weld brass....
umm....
Step 1-take like a tooth pick or something, and stick it thru' the "nipple" and into where it goes, then push it all the way down. So it holds it in place where it needs to be.
Step 2-Mix up some JBweld and cover it in that stuff. Make sure it is completely covering it (to avoid any leaks).
Step 3- Let it dry,
Step 4- Test it. If there is no leaks, then put it back together and get on out on the road.

Wrenchin' On Scooters
Greetings:
Noob Jesse sez:
1. Apply blindfold.
2. Remove rear brake cable from lever and stay under engine case.
3. Your pipe is already off.
3. Cable, oil, fuel and vac lines off carb.
4. Your oil lines are already munched. Pull cable/bracket from pump.
5. Three or 4 electrical connections in that rubber condom.
6. Shock mount.
7. One big bolt.
8. Get a bandage for your crushed thumb.
9 Remove blindfold.
10. Reassemble friend's scooter you accidentally just took apart. Now do yours...
Now set the engine down on your priceless antique side table and work in the comfort of your boudoir.
Last time I got the powerplant upstairs inside of 30 minutes, including removing plastic. Your mileage may vary.
Noob Jesse sez:
As a new ScooterPhile, you will need to begin Dojo training on engine removal. 10-Step Program (From WheelmanMemory):if only the top screw on the exhaust broke and not the bottom. I'm having a lot of problems reaching it

Super-Human Strength
Greetings:
Dac's the best! Oh, sure he's there to help Noob Jesse clean up the mess after he's shattered a bunch of parts trying to dismantle. (Studs and nuts and nipples, Oh My!)
But where were you before all this Scooter Carnage occurred?! We all have to do something to reduce Jesse's evidently super-human strength. Maybe an all-cheeseburger diet and round-the-clock Barry Manilow recordings on his iPod. Maybe some old Michael Jackson videos, too.
I'm shipping all my recordings of Mandy to him without delay. And a coupon book for Whataburgers.
