Will these speakers fit in my elite?
i have a 99 elite S that I want to put the speakers in the glove box area. I believe these have about a 2 or 3 inch mounting depth. Does anyone know if these will fit and if so any suggestions on how to mount them?
Thanks
here are the speakers

Re: Will these speakers fit in my elite?
they should fit, i had some sony ones in mine, they glove box is really hard to get it to look right tho when you put them in there, so i woulc reccomend you get some smaller ones, how are you powering the speakers tho? i put a 150watt rms, and a 300 watt max amp in my elite, and i couldnt even get it to turn on. i would reccomend smaller speakers tho.

Re: Will these speakers fit in my elite?
I just got the speakers today. I bought a mitzu 300w amp and I am a little concerned about the power. I have seen ppl online able to get it powered with just the stock 12c battery using a 3 way switch. Any thoughts on that? My buddy is making me a mod so the speakers fit, so I am not too concerned about that. But if I need more power is there an easy way to do that?

Re: Will these speakers fit in my elite?
You will more than likely pull more power than the stator can put out, drain the battery pretty quick. You will need a rechargeable battery pack of some sort.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
Re: Will these speakers fit in my elite?
anyone know where to buy a good LED 3 way switch so I can turn the amp on and off? I checked ebay but you have to buy like 3 at a time.

Radio shack for the switch
build yourself a box or get one of those small luggage racks for scooters and put a car battery in that and hook it up parallel to the stock battery it will power your radio fine. then get a small charger to charge it wile your asleep

Why bother with hooking up to stock batt? Set it up completely separate, that way when you run out of music power your scoot is still good, instead of pulling down the little battery with it, a small, sealed, deep cycle meant for a backup power unit or wheelchair would do good.

A thought:
If you are running an Ipod (already powered) could you not retrofit some small battery powered computer styled speakers into the glove area or maybe even within the handle bars? Any thoughts?
Also:
I really like the idea of speakers inside my mirrors. Something like this, but without the thingy on the top of the mirror.

wow those are killer and cheep too. i think that would be the best way of all. i think it may drain the small battery pretty fast still. i am thinking that maybe you could get one of those small 12v toy batteries from one of those razor scooters or electric jeep toys and build a cool little box out of fiberglass or diamond plated aluminum and put it on the deck. It would be enough for a few hours of play. those razor batteries are about $25 each and they are VERY small and lite and powerfull.mr pibbs wrote:A thought:
