I re-did it and got to 5 1/2 turns for the mixture screw.

Wow! 5 1/2 turns on the mixture screw means there is way to much fuel getting into the intake from somewhere, possibly the bystarter being stuck open or float level way too high. For the idle speed screw that would be in the ball park but for the mixture screw that is letting in a ton of air.gookies wrote:I re-did it and got to 5 1/2 turns for the mixture screw.

Yeah, I noticed I get really poor gas mileage on this scooter also. It drained almost half a gallon of gas for only 18miles. What would you suggest me to do to remedy this situation Bear?

Check the bystarter for proper operation as described in the service manual. If the bystarter is good the check the voltage from the stator when the engine is running. After that check the resistor.gookies wrote:Yeah, I noticed I get really poor gas mileage on this scooter also. It drained almost half a gallon of gas for only 18miles. Only if I had the knowledge to do that. I'm trying to find someone that could help me in my area (Lansing/East Lansing, MI). Also Bear, is the Elite E suppose to have the engine, AF05E and is it okay to ride without the plastic on the sides?

Yes and yes. You can ride without the side panels but you should keep the cooling shroud plastics on the cylinder.gookies wrote:Only if I had the knowledge to do that. I know we have members from Lansing, I just don't remember their usernames. Try doing a search for "Lansing" and then PM the members from that area. They might not check the board daily.gookies wrote:Thanks Eliteguy. I hope I can find someone to help me fix my scooter ASAP.

Yeah, I did that before I posted that thread in General. The members haven't logged in since 2010.
