just use the metal piece that u use to hold pipes to walls. its like a u with a tab for a nail or screw. it looks something like this: n_. they cost like 30cents. just bend it so holds down the cover and use that bolt to hang. i have it on mine and it works great.

The whole point of this thread is people who cant understand, "use a bigger bracket". Dac just happened to have a cable hanger on hand.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Or, Honda could have made it easy on everyone and built the 87 design side covers in 1984. But now I'm just talking about management decisions made 25 years ago. The 87 design is so far superior it's not even funny. Although I like the rigid feel to the older plastics. The 87 plastics feel flimsy, like actual tupperware vs. a serious motorcycle/scooter part.

While your clamp idea might work, it would be several times the size of this solution, so much so I wonder if it would fit.

And while thirty cents is not much, my solution cost me nothing.

Anyhow, that's my idea, take it or leave it.

Yep, simple but as I said my solution is smaller and less "ghetto" but I say use whatever works. Plus I didn't have to use electrical tape. :P
