well it could just be bent over too much where you can simply bend it back or flip it over the other way. Or it will have a crack in it or be broken already where it will have to be replaced.Usually the reeds would sit pretty well on the cage with no gap. With double boysen reeds it's different and you can have a gap from the cage.

After examining them they dont seem bent at all, however the gap seemed kinda big so I flipped it over, however this did nothing, Iam surprised even with starter fluid and spark that damm think wont start. However I have a spare cylinder and piston with rings with only 500 miles that I plan to swap in if the rings are bad on this unit.

if u end up pullin off your cylinder and piston, check those crank seals. make sure your oil pump is in. remove your belt cover. remove your fan and cover. pour some gas in the crank case so it just covers the crank. slowly rotate your crank by hand. look on both sides and see if u see any gas seeping through the seals. if u do.....thier bad. 8)

I think I found the problem. I removed my cylinder to examine the piston and rings and guess what, the bottom ring was broken in two pieces and the top ring was old looking, however the piston looks brand new. The cylinder wall looks to be in good condition also. Iam, now 99.99% this is the problem just need ya's confirmation. Looks like a really bad rebuild to me, guess this means I can buy a big bore, 65 cc here I come.

I put in my old piston and rings and cylinder from my Aero 65, The setup only has 540 miles on it before I removed it and put a polini big bore in it. The rings were broken on the engine thats why it didnt fire. After I replaced the cylinder and piston, I droped a lot of oil down the spark plug hole and sprayed some starter fluid down the intake without the carb and it fired right up. I had it running like that for like a second. Just wanted to make sure that was the problem.
